After Padmaavat and Pad Man, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety becomes the third highest opener of 2018: It’s unbelievable how Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has suddenly made this weekend a happening one at the box office. To give credit where it is due, the film was supposed to open well when you consider it’s rival at the box office- Welcome to New York. But nobody thought it would be this great. In fact, after earning Rs. 6.42 crore at the box office, it has become the third highest opener at the box office this year. That’s right after Padmaavat and Pad Man
Padmaavat which released on January 25, obviously saw big opening day numbers because it was the first big release of this year. It had earned Rs 24 crore. Also, it managed to reach the theatres after a lot of struggle. Pad Man released on February 9 and being an Akshay Kumar, it took a good opening. The film had earned Rs 10.26 crore at the box office. A film on a taboo topic like menstruation worked started off on a good note and now it’s SKTS’ turn to shine at the box office. Trade is hopeful that the film will pick up pace in the next few days
